• 1. I'VE HEARD LAMINATED COLUMNS ARE EXPENSIVE. IS THAT TRUE?
No. While a few of the shorter lengths can cost slightly more than their conventional counterparts, most longer laminated columns are actually less expensive. Another major cost-saving factor is that lumberyards don't have to discard piles of twisted and cracked conventional posts, often wasting 10-15% of the bunk that is simply unusable.
  • 2. QUALITY IS IMPORTANT. WHAT TYPE OF LUMBER GOES INTO YOUR COLUMNS?
We understand that quality is a top priority for our customers, which is precisely why all of our columns are engineered to meet or exceed industry standards. Triad uses Machine Stress Rated 1,650 lbf (SPF) for column uppers and CCA treated to .60 penetration for all lumber that is at or below grade. We do not use an ACQ Treatment for any of the lumber in our columns.
  • 3. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF LAMINATED COLUMNS TO A HOMEOWNER?
While not all laminated columns are created equal, Triad Building Components brings peace of mind to the homeowner by providing a full 50 year warranty. This enables the buyer and builder alike to rest assured that their building will stand the test of time; today, and for generations to come.
  • 6. WHAT LENGTHS ARE TRIAD LAMINATED COLUMNS AVAILABLE IN?
At Triad, we strive to meet the ever-growing demands of the building industry. Currently, we are producing columns from 10' to 42'.
  • 7. WHY DO YOU USE A COMBINATION OF GLUE & NAILS VS A SOLID 'GLUE LAM'?
At Triad we use a specialized two-part adhesive system that is engineered and tested to the highest construction standards, but we don't stop there. We also use hot dipped galvanized nails, adding enhanced strength to the column’s structural integrity.
  • 8. AS A CONSUMER, WHERE CAN I BUY TRIAD'S LAMINATED COLUMNS?
